Slatwall & Lighting — The Finishing Layer That Makes Everything Work
Slatwall turns empty wall space into organized storage you can reconfigure without a drill. Hooks, baskets, shelves, and bike mounts slot in anywhere and move anytime. Add custom LED lighting and your garage goes from functional to impressive.
What Slatwall Is — And Why It Works:
Slatwall is a wall panel system with horizontal grooves spaced at regular intervals. Those grooves accept a universal range of hooks, brackets, shelves, baskets, and specialty accessories and every accessory slides in and out without tools. That means your wall layout can evolve with you: add a hook for a new tool, move the bike mount when you add a second bike, swap shelves for a basket without touching a drill.
It's the opposite of pegboard. Heavier panels, metal-reinforced channels, and accessories that lock securely rather than wobbling in oversized holes.
- Configurable — move any accessory anywhere, anytime, without new hardware
- Strong — metal-backed channels handle serious weight when properly anchored
- Clean — a fully organized wall looks intentional, not improvised
- Compatible — works alongside cabinets, overhead racks, and any floor system
Slatwall Panel Options:
Standard PVC SlatwallThe most common and cost-effective option. Rigid PVC panels with aluminum-reinforced channels provide a clean, finished look and handle everyday garage storage with ease. Available in multiple colors to coordinate with your cabinet system and floor.
Best for: tools, sports gear, garden equipment, lightweight to medium loads
Metal-Backed SlatwallA heavier-duty panel with a steel backing layer behind the PVC face. Designed for applications where concentrated weight is a concern — heavy tool collections, large bike mounts, or walls that need to carry serious loads across multiple accessories at once.
Best for: heavy tool storage, multiple bikes, high-density accessory layouts
Accessories — What You Can Hang:
The right accessory selection is what turns a slatwall panel into a storage system. We help you select accessories based on what you're storing so the layout works from day one.
- Single and double hooks for hand tools, cords, and gear
- Heavy-duty bike mounts — vertical and horizontal configurations
- Wire baskets for loose items, balls, and gear that doesn't hang
- Shelf brackets for small parts, spray cans, and boxed items
- Specialty holders for shovels, rakes, hoses, and long-handled tools
- Power tool holders sized for drills, saws, and battery packs
- Golf bag cradles, ski and snowboard racks, fishing rod holders
Slatwall Placement:
Slatwall works anywhere you have open wall space. The most effective layouts position slatwall panels in zones based on activity: a tool zone near the workbench, a sports zone near the garage door, a garden zone near the side entry. We design the panel layout around how you actually use your garage, not just where the walls happen to be.
Slatwall integrates cleanly alongside cabinet systems, typically installed above base cabinets and on side walls where cabinetry doesn't reach, creating a continuous storage surface from floor to ceiling.
Custom Lighting:
No garage upgrade makes a bigger visual impact per dollar than lighting. We install LED strip lighting beneath wall cabinets and along the underside of slatwall sections, adding task lighting exactly where you need it without overhead fixtures that leave shadows in the wrong places.
For the overall garage, we install high-output LED shop lights sized and positioned for your specific ceiling height and layout. The difference between a single-bulb garage and a properly lit one is the difference between a storage room and a workspace you're proud to show off.
- LED strip lighting under cabinets and slatwall sections
- High-bay LED shop lights for full-garage illumination
- 5000K daylight color temperature — bright, accurate, and easy on the eyes
- Motion-sensor options available
- Full installation included — no loose wire ends or temporary fixtures
Lighting is almost always the last element we install and the first thing clients notice when they walk back into their finished garage.

Pairing With Other Services:
Slatwall and lighting are almost always part of a larger project, installed after the floor and alongside or after cabinets and overhead racks. We design the full wall-to-ceiling layout as a system so every element works together. A floor without wall storage leaves the garage half-finished. A cabinet system without lighting leaves it half-lit. We handle all of it.
